Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 batch pie crust or store-bought pie shell
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Prepare your crust by rolling out chilled dough until it's slightly larger than your pie dish, then transfer it carefully to avoid tearing.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and pre-bake the crust for about 20 minutes until lightly golden.
- In a bowl, mix together brown sugar and flour before gradually adding melted butter until smooth.
- Beat in eggs one at a time until well blended, ensuring the mixture is thick and shiny with no lumps.
- Stir in vanilla extract and salt, then gently fold in chopped nuts and chocolate chips for even distribution.
- Pour the filling into your pre-baked crust and bake for another 35–45 minutes until edges are set but the center still wobbles slightly.
