- 113 g cream cheese
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup chopped fresh strawberries
- 2 tablespoons strawberry jam
- 8 egg roll wrappers or pie dough rounds
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Oil for frying (about 4 cups)
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy; let it chill in the fridge for about ten minutes.
- Lay out the egg roll wrappers or pie dough rounds on a clean surface. Place a spoonful of the chilled cream cheese mixture in each center along with some chopped strawberries and strawberry jam.
- Brush the edges of each wrapper lightly with beaten egg wash. Fold over into triangles or rectangles and press down to seal tightly.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to around 350°F (175°C). Monitor the temperature to ensure proper frying.
- Carefully drop assembled pies into hot oil in batches, frying each side for about two to three minutes until golden brown. Remove from oil and place on paper towel-lined racks to drain excess grease.
